What we collect when you sign up — and what we don't.

Last updated: June 4, 2026

If you sign up for the Debt Per Person newsletter, we collect only the information we need to send it and keep the signup process reliable.

What we collect

  • your email address
  • the page you signed up from
  • UTM parameters, if they are present in the link you used
  • the date and time of your signup, confirmation, unsubscribe, or deletion request

We do not ask for your name, phone number, or demographic data for this MVP signup flow.

Why we collect it

We use this information to:

  • send the Weekly Federal Debt Brief to people who asked for it
  • confirm that a signup was requested
  • keep basic records of consent, unsubscribe, and deletion requests
  • understand which site pages are driving newsletter interest

We do not sell, rent, or share the newsletter list for advertising.

Who processes it

Customer.io processes newsletter signup and delivery for Debt Per Person as our email service provider.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email.

If you want us to delete your subscriber record, email hello@debtperperson.com and ask for deletion.

How long we keep it

If you unsubscribe, we may keep a minimal suppression record for up to 30 days so we do not accidentally add the same address back during that period. After that, we delete it.

If you ask for deletion, we will use that request to remove your subscriber record.
